Why don’t you want to swim with your dad?

Some dads are trying to figure out why they’re not swimming with their kids.
The sport of swimming has become popular among dads because it’s relatively safe and easy to teach.
It’s a perfect fit for a lot of dads because you can teach your kids to swim and have them swim without having to worry about their own safety.
“It’s like an old-timey activity,” said Joe Patera, a father of five from Arizona.
Patera has seen many dads and kids alike get into the water.
He said he’s seen many kids go into the pool and even a couple who were swimming at a beach with their parents.
But he said he had never seen a dad in the water with his son.
While Pateras son was at a pool, the dad told him, “I’ve been swimming with you for like four years, and you’re never gonna get to that level, because you’re gonna get into trouble,” Paters son said.
As a result, Pater as dad didn’t take any chances.
“I was like, ‘I can’t wait to get back out there and see my son swim,’ ” Pater said.
Pateras pool, which is part of the U.S. Olympic Committee, is only 30 feet long and a couple of feet deep.
“It took him a couple hours to get up there, and he did it in just under a minute,” Paters son said, adding that Pater was also very cautious when he went into the lake.
Paters son and his dad have shared their story on Facebook, sharing how much fun it was for both of them.
“There was no crying, no laughing, no nothing,” Patea said.
“We’re just enjoying the whole experience and knowing we were part of something great.”
“I think that’s why it’s become so popular,” Paternas son said of the sport.
